Welcome To The IFAA

Dear visitor, Welcome to the new web site of the International Field Archery Association, also know as the IFAA. The IFAA is an amateur sports association that was founded in 1968 and now represents some 20 000 to 25 000 field archers in 26 member countries from all over the world. We are proud of our World and Continental events that allow for participation of all our affiliated archers, irrespective of how well they can shoot. Most of our tournaments exceed 400 entries and some of them even exceed 600. Our game is marked Field archery events, shooting at paper target faces over known distances and unmarked Bowhunter events, shooting at either paper faces or 3D targets over unknown distances.

Our events are simple but well defined, where your fellow archers keep control over the implementation of the rules, rather than judges, marshals or other officials. This format has been very successful over the years and is appreciated by most of our archers. This web site has been designed to maximize the amount of information at your disposal. Over the months to come you can access all information that will introduce you to IFAA archery. This will include information about our administration, our member countries, our events calendar, event scores and world records, tournament rules and much more, as well as a two monthly news update as to what is happening in the IFAA. Please take your time and familiarize yourself with our sport . We hope to welcome you as a participant the next time we host an event near to where you live.
