ASOCIACIÓN ARGENTINA DE TIRADORES CON ARCO
To all IFAA archers,
We are pleased to inform you know that the organization of the WFAC 2012 is going well.
These days I have been meeting the government authorities of Miramar and the WFAC 2012 has been declared a matter of “governmental interest”. This means that the city streets will be closed to traffic for the opening parade of the delegations. It has also been promised that a stage would be set up in the main square for the opening of the event and that a speech will be given by the government authorities, IFAA and AATA. Local artists (singers, tango dancers and folkloric ballets, and the like) might be performing.
After this ceremony, the archers will be taken into the woods for them to get acquainted with it and thereafter to the bar and the restaurant, which will be our headquarters. There we will have a toast with local wines.
We have also met the chamber of gastronomists, tourism agencies, police chiefs, fire chiefs and directors of the culture board to coordinate the closure of the woods to tourists for safety reasons.
For the Animal Round Day (the shortest day) we have been promised a traditional gaucho parade and a rodeo if possible.
We have planned a maximum of 3 circuits and a practice field.
The butts will be made out of EVA rubber and soon we will send the Exec a video so you can see their effectiveness.
From this coming month onwards we will begin designing the outlay of the ranges and we will send them to you. For these we will need skilled professionals from Miramar since the woods are huge (1,252.82 acres) and it is easy to get lost without staff that is familiar with it.
There is a bar/restaurant in the heart of the forest with a parking lot. It can hold up to 300 people and it can be used to have wine or a beer at the end of the day’s shoot.
This place has many toilets and rooms for the storage of equipment.
It is important to know that downtown Miramar and the hotel that is furthest from the woods isn’t more than a mile and a half distance, some even as near as 220 yards. Hence, going from the lodge to the woods will be easy.
There will be catering in the woods whenever you take a break- sandwiches, barbeques, chicken, salads, etc. will be available
There are many restaurants downtown Miramar to enjoy traditional Argentinian dishes.
