News About WFAC 2014

usaOver the last few months gossip was the reason for confusion about the venue of the WFAC 2014.

The bid made by the NFAA in 2010 was clear from the beginning. It would be and always has been the town of Yankton in South Dakota.
The date has now been finalised: Monday 04 August to Friday 08 August.

The Opening ceremony will be hosted on Sunday 03 August, late afternoon.

The closing ceremony is planned for Friday evening, but will be confirmed before the end of May.

From Wednesday 30 July to Sunday 03 August the NFAA will be hosting their Field Nationals at the same venue, closing with an Animal Round by about 14.00

IFAA archers who enter for the WFAC 2014 may also compete in the NFAA Nationals. Exact details are being worked out at the moment. Awards will be issued!

So archers who are up to it can compete in Field Archery for 10 days!!!

At least one, but possible two FITA Target ranges will be converted to practice ranges and the Indoor facilities will also be available for warm-up during the tournament.

The Field Ranges for the Event will be all NEW!  The US Military as a Project are building new Ranges-these will include a drastic change in topography, new vegetation, trees, Pond and some very interesting and challenging shots for even the best archers.

Although there is ample hotel accommodation and also house rental available, archers are advised to make early reservations.

Yankton is a summer vacation area with many water sports e.g. swimming, beaches, sailing, boating and fishing.

In addition there will be many functions planned for the Archers, including concerts, tours of historical nature, buffalo and elk wildlife tours, American Indian Pow-Wow and much more. Please watch for further details and updates!
