Dear Archers,

Although the IFAA is proud that their sanctioned tournaments are mostly free of incidents, some unfortunate events are a cause of concern and the World Council did request that the IFAA Executive sets up a Code of Conduct for our competitors and enforce this code in future IFAA sanctioned tournaments.

From now on the code as set out below, will be included in all IFAA sanctioned tournaments as part of the registration information which is issued to each participant.

BASIC CODE OF CONDUCT FOR COMPETITORS

 

  1.  This tournament is conducted in accordance with the Rules of the International Field Archery Association [IFAA] and in accordance with local law, health and safety regulations.It is the sole responsibility of the archer to be informed about local laws and regulations.
  2.  The organisers of this event reserve the right to restrict or deny access to the area of the event. The decisions of the Tournament Captain / Shoot Director shall be final in this regard.
  3.  Noise from the use of radio sets, CD players or the like as well as the use of mobile phones is not permitted in any part of the competition area.
  4. ; Behaviour likely to cause confusion, annoyance or nuisance of any kind, is not permitted in any part of the area. Individuals persisting in the use of foul and abusive language may be liable to ejection and possible banning from the area.
  5.  It is unacceptable to make any remarks of a racist or sexist nature. Individuals doing so may be liable to immediate ejection and possible banning from the area.  In addition, such individuals may be reported to their National Authority by the Event Organisers.
  6.  Any competitor who wilfully contravenes the IFAA tournament rules or in any other way is found cheating or who acts in any other way of “un-sportsman-like behaviour” may result in immediate disqualification and ejection from the range and associated areas.
  7.  It is unacceptable to bully, harass, threaten or intimidate any other individual or group. Violent behaviour is unacceptable under any circumstances. Such behaviour may result in immediate disqualification from the tournament and ejection from the area.
  8.  It is not permitted to enter the area whilst in possession of any article or substance which is illegal in terms of local laws, rules and regulations.
  9.  Any competitor entering or attempting to enter the archery range within the area whilst in possession of alcohol or whilst drunk, may be liable to immediate disqualification from the tournament, immediate ejection from the area and be reported to his National Authority.
  10.  No smoking will be allowed on the ranges outside those areas designated for smoking. Any competitor smoking outside these designated areas may be liable to immediate disqualification from the tournament and immediate ejection from the range.
  11.  All competitors are asked, in the interests of public safety and good order, to comply with all instructions issued by the Range Officials and other official representatives of the tournament host.
  12.  All competitors entering the range and associated areas are admitted subject to the above rules and to the Rules and Regulations of the International Field Archery Association and the Rules and Regulations of the Tournament host. Entry to the range and associated areas shall be deemed to constitute unqualified acceptance of all these Rules and Regulations.
  13. The tournament organisers reserve the right for its Range Officials and other official representatives of the tournament host to remove from the range and associated areas any person who DOES NOT COMPLY with the above rules and regulations, or whose presence in the range and associated areas is, or could reasonably be construed as constituting a source of danger, nuisance or annoyance to other Competitors, Officials, Spectators or Visitors.  Competitors are reminded that the Tournament Hosts can call upon local law enforcement agencies to assist them in enforcing the law of the host country.
