05 April 2008
At the 2008 General Assembly the following decisions were made which will be effective immediately for all IFAA sanctioned tournaments:
- The Cub division will include the following additional styles:
Freestyle Unlimited
Longbow
- Amendment to Article III B of the IFAA By-Laws:
At the World Bowhunter Championships, the World Field Archery Championships and the World Indoor Archery Championships, gold, silver and bronze medals shall be awarded in each division competing.
In the event that there are less than five archers competing against each other in a division, the winner in that style must shoot a minimum score to be given the title of "World Champion" and to receive the IFAA Champion patch.
This minimum score shall be 97% of the average winning score in that style in the WIAC, 95% in the WFAC and 92% in the WBHC, as calculated over the last three similar IFAA sanctioned events.
In the event that the winner does not score the minimum score thus calculated he/she will be awarded the gold medal as "event winner" but will not be announced as the "World Champion" and will not receive the “Champion Patch”.
(Limitations have been deleted)
- The Ruling of the Technical Committee, No 01/2007 regarding the “String damper” has been set aside. String dampers are allowed in all styles.
